Majors by college
Open a college to see every major
Each major lives in one of our four colleges, but classes, labs and advisors are shared across campus. Most majors can be paired with a minor from any college, and about one in five Bears completes a double major.
Not ready to choose? Start as an Exploring student and work with an advisor in the First-Year Trail Seminar (TBU 100) to narrow your options.
From curious to declared
Choosing a major is a process, not a single form. Here is how most Bears get there by the end of their sophomore fall.
- First semester
Explore in TBU 100
The First-Year Trail Seminar pairs you with a faculty mentor and a peer guide who help you test interests through short projects.
- First year
Try intro courses
Intro courses in most majors count toward general education, so sampling two or three fields keeps you on track to graduate in four years.
- Second year, fall
Meet your college advisor
Book a planning session in BerryLink. You will map remaining requirements and choose a minor if you want one.
- By the third semester
Declare and plan ahead
Declare online with your advisor's approval, then plan your Field Semester and paid junior internship.

Undecided is a fine place to start
One in four Bears arrives undecided.
You do not need to declare a major until the end of your second year. Your TBU 100 mentor and an exploratory advisor will help you try out fields along the way.
