Nursing program earns full accreditation

Tumbleberry's Bachelor of Science in Nursing program has earned full accreditation for ten years, the longest term an accreditor awards and a rare result for a new program.
Reviewers highlighted the nursing simulation lab in the Bramble Health Center, where students practice everything from routine care to emergency births on high-fidelity manikins, and the program's rural clinical placements across central Oregon.
"Accreditation tells our students and their future employers that a Tumbleberry nurse is ready on day one," said Dr. Ruth Calloway, dean of the College of Health Sciences and director of nursing.
The program admits 64 students a year and has a 100 percent first-time pass rate on the national licensing exam for its first cohort.
