Lantern Walk returns with a new route along the Tumble River

Founders Hall and the central lawn, where the Lantern Walk begins

Tumbleberry's Lantern Walk, the fall tradition that welcomes the darker evenings, returns Friday, October 30, with a new route.

Students will gather on the central lawn at 6:30 PM to decorate paper lanterns, then walk past Larkspur Hall and down the river walk to the Tumble River Footbridge, where the Tumbleberry Chamber Singers will perform. The route is paved, step-free and lit the entire way.

"Last year's walk was so popular that people were spilling onto University Way," said Hailey Burke, director of Student Involvement. "The river walk gives everyone room, and the view from the bridge is the best on campus."

Lantern kits are free at the Student Involvement office in Bramble Commons, room 218, while supplies last.
